Mike Rosenberg, CPA, MBA
Mike is a tax partner with extensive experience in business and tax planning for clients engaged in various industries, including real estate, manufacturing, retail and distribution. His areas of concentration are estate and succession planning, and partnership and corporate taxation of domestic and international operations. Mike chairs the Firm’s Family Business Practice Group, which focuses on integrating business, income tax, estate and succession planning objectives of family groups and individuals to accomplish inter-generational transfers and business restructuring in a most tax-efficient manner. His expertise with special valuation rules for family-owned entities that link estate and gift tax concepts with income tax concepts provides for seamless and effective representation of clients. Advising closely held business owners and real estate developers, he has structured joint ventures, corporate acquisitions and divestitures, and loan workouts on troubled properties. His in-depth knowledge of the rules governing the taxation of partnerships and LLCs has been particularly valuable in property transfers involving diverse areas, such as UPREITs and other business reorganizations.
Mike frequently lectures to trade and professional groups on topics of estate and succession planning, partnership taxation and corporate mergers and acquisitions. He has authored numerous articles on income taxation and financial matters.
Mike’s professional associations include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA). He is a member of the Estate Tax Planning and Partnership Committees of the NYSSCPA and is a former chairman of its Tax Committee on Corporate Distributions, Liquidations and Reorganizations.
